Find the final composition of mixture of 0.5 kg ice
at 0°C and 2kg water at 30°c. Given that.
the latent heat of ice is 3.6x10"5 J/kg and. Specific
heat of water is 4200 J/kg.k​

Q=ML Q=MC delta T

(1) Q=0.5kg×3.6×10"5 J/kg

= 0.5×3.6×10"5 J

=180000 joule

(2)Q=2kg×4200J/kg×30

=2×4200J ×30

=252000 joule

final composition of mixture is =180000+252000

=432000 joule
