Q. FIND THE SQ. ROOT OF 64 BY REPEATED SUBTRACTION METHOD.

Solution

[ here, we just need to subtract the given number with odd numbers i.e. 1, 3, 5, 7…, until the answer comes 0 at last ]

64 - 1 = 63
63 - 3 = 60
60 - 5 = 55
55 - 7 = 48
48 - 9 = 39
39 - 11 = 28
28 - 13 = 15
15 - 15 = 0

[ now count how many times have we subtracted it ]

♦ As we had subtracted it 8 times

So the sq. root of 64 is 8

⚫ However this method is not at used because it takes much time and space. As if, find sq. root of 3 or more digit numbers. So, instead of this method we generally use long division method ⚫
