Question:-

Find the first term of an A.P. when t7 = 20 and common difference is 3 ?

Answer:-

Given:-

•7th term = 20

•common difference d = 3

As 7th term is defined in an A.P as (a+6d),

we can say,

a+6d=20

where,

• a is first term,

• d is common difference

on substituting the value of d,

we get,

a+6×3 = 20

a+18=20

so,

a=20-18

a=2

CONCLUSION:-

THE VALUE OF THE FIRST TERM OF THIS ARITHMETIC PROGRESSION IS 2
