P = -5.0D

f=1/P

=-1/5.0

=-0.2

F=-0.2

We have to calculate the focal length of the given lens by using the following mathematical formula,

Power of the lens = 1/focal length of the lens

P = 1/f

-5 = 1/f

-5f = 1

f = 1/-5

f = -0.2

Hence,the focal length of the lens is -0.2 metres.
