y2−4y=4x

y2−4y+4=4x+4

(y−2)2=4(1)(x+1)

comparing with the standard equation Y2=4aX

Vertex of the parabola is

X=0,Y=0

⇒x+1=0,y−2=0

⇒x=−1,y=2

∴(−1,2) is vertex

Focus of the parabola is

X=a,Y=0

⇒x+1=a,y−2=0

⇒x+1=1,y−2=0

⇒x=0,y=2

∴(0,2)

Axis of the parabola is

Y=0

y−2=0  

y=2

Latus rectum of the parabola is 4a
