102*98
(100+2) (100-2)
Use identity (a+b) (a-b)= a^2-b^2
100^2- 2^2
10000-4=9996
(100+2) (100-2)
Use identity (a+b) (a-b)= a^2-b^2
100^2- 2^2
10000-4=9996

Given numbers ,
102 which can also be written as (100+2).........1
98 which can also be written as (100-2) ....... 2
Now to find :-
102x98= (100+2)(100-2)
[From 1 and 2]
= (100)^2 - (2)^2
[ From (a+b)(a-b)=a^2 - b^2]
= 10000 - 4
= 9996
So the required solution is 9996.
For understanding :
a^2 = axa = a square.
b^2 = bxb = b square
100^2 = 100x100=10000
2^2= 2x2 = 4
