find the fraction equivalent to 3/4 which becomes equivalent to 4/7 if the numerator is decreased by 5 and denominator is increased by 5​

Given:-

Initial fraction

=3/4

New fration

=4/7

Solution:-

Let \:  fraction \:  be \:  \frac{3x}{4x}  \\  \: therefore \: \: new \: fraction   \\ =  \frac{3x - 5}{4x + 5}  =  \frac{4}{7}  \\

On solving:-

7(3x-5)=4(4x+5)

21x-35=16x+20

5x=15

x=3

Therefore, Fraction:-

 \frac{3x}{4x}  \\  =  \frac{3 \times 3}{3 \times 4}   \\  =  \frac{9}{12}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:
