Let the numerator be x and denominator be y.

X+2/y+2 = 1/2.

By cross multiplying

2x+4 = y+2

2x - y = -2 (First equation)

x+12/y+13 = 3/4.

Cross multiply

4x+48 =3y+36

4x-3y = -12 (2nd equation)

2x-y= -2

2x=y-2.

X=y-2/2

Now substitute x in equation 2

4(y-2/2)-3y= -12

4y-8/2 -3y = -12

4y-8-6y/2= -12

-2y -8 =-12*2

y = -24+8/-2

=8

4x-24= -12

X= -12+24/4

= 3

X=3 Y=8
