θ  = nπ/2  + π/8 is general solution of the equation cotθ  - tanθ  = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

cot theta - tan theta = 2

cotθ  - tanθ  = 2

=> cosθ/Sinθ  - Sinθ/Cosθ  = 2

=> Cos²θ  - Sin²θ = 2SinθCosθ

Using Cos²θ  - Sin²θ  = Cos2θ    & Sin2θ = 2SinθCosθ

=> Cos2θ = Sin2θ

=> Tan2θ  = 1

=> 2θ  = nπ  + π/4

=> θ  = nπ/2  + π/8

Option 4 is correct
