Question:

Find the general term of the following sequence

7 , 13 , 19 , 25 , 31

Answer:

In this given sequence

first term , a = 7

common difference, d = 13 - 7 = 6

General formula of an AP is given by

 a(n) = a + (n - 1)d

(where 'n'general no. of term)

( putting a = 7 and d = 6 in the general formula of AP)

a(n) = 7 + (n -1 ) (6)

a(n) = 7 + 6n - 6

a (n) = 6n + 1

Hence, the general term of the given sequence will be

a(n) = 6 n + 1.
