If → r = ^ x x + ^ y y + ^ z z r→=x^x+y^y+z^z r is the separation vector whose magnitude is given by √ x 2 + y 2 + z 2 x2+y2+z2 Hence r n = ( x 2 + y 2 + z 2 ) n 2 rn=(x2+y2+z2)n2 I applied the ∇ ∇ operator to it and this is solution I got: ∇ ( r n ) = n ( r 2 ) 2 n − 2 2 → r ∇(rn)=n(r2)2n−22r→ Is this the right way to find the solution or is there another generalised solution?
