What is the greatest 5 digit number which is exactly divisible by 8, 15, and 21?

it is solve by this method only.....

try to understand it....

8 factors as 2*2*2

15 factors as 3*5

21 factors as 3*7

So, all numbers divisible by all three MUST be multiples of 2*2*2*3*5*7=840

The largest five digit number is 99999

Dividing that by 840 is 119 and a small remainder

840 times 119 is 99960

Which is therefore the largest five digit number divisible by 8, by 15, and by 21.

However, if you need a number divisible by all three, one after the other, then this number must instead be a multiple of 8*15*21=2520

2520 goes into 99999 39 times and change

39 times 2520 is 98280, so if that’s what your question meant to ask, that’s the answer, not quite as large as the largest five digit number each of the set can be divided evenly into.

hope it helps you....
