Answer:

Given:

apples =28

mangoes =42

To find : The greatest number of children to whom 28 apples and 42 mangoes can be equally divided and how many apples and mangoes will each get.

Now, take the HCF of 28 and 42, we have

28 = 2 × 2 × 7

42 = 2 × 3 × 7

Then the hcf of 28 and 42 = 2 × 7 = 14

.°. the greatest number of children = 14 children

now,

Apples each children will get = 28÷14

= 2 apples

Mangoes each children will get =42÷14

=3 mangoes

Those each children will get 2 apples and 3 mangoes and this fruit will divided equally among 14 children.
