find the greatest number which divides 279 and 435 leaving and remainder 7 and 10 respectively

Numbers which will be divided,
279 - 7 = 272
435 - 10 = 425

=================

272 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 17
425 = 5 × 5 × 17

HCF = 17

Then, 17 is the largest number which is required here

Prime factorisation of 425 = 5 × 5 × 17

Therefore,
