(i)a2b

Given, it is even number and divisible by both 3 and 5.

So, b=0

Also, a+2 must be divisible by 3.

So, a=1,4,7

Out of 1,4,7 greatest is 7.

Hence, a=7 and b=0.

(ii)2ab2a

Given, it is even number and divisible by both 3 and 5.

So, a=0

Also, 4+b must be divisible by 3.

So, b=2,5,8

Out of 2,5,8 greatest is 8.

Hence, a=0 and b=8.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

since the number should be divisible by 3 and 5

for a number to be divisible by 5, the last digit should be 5,0

since we needed largest number but even

so a=0

for a number to be divisible 3, the sum of the digits should be a multiple of 3

2+0+b+2+0=4+b

the greatest number that can be added ,to get to nearest multiple of 3 is 8

therefore a=0,b=8

and the number is 20820
