Answer:

given two numbers are

8/15 and 16/125

as we know that HCF and LCM of fractions are given as

HCF = HCF of numerators/LCM of denominators

LCM = LCM of numerators/HCF of denominators

For the HCF :

first find the the HCF of numerator that is 8 and 16

8 = 2 x 2 x 2

16 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2

° HCF of 8 and 16 = 2 x 2 x 2 = 8

and secondly find the LCM of denominator 15 and 125

15 = 3 x 5

125 = 5 x 5 x 5

• LCM of 15 and 125 = 375

therefore , HCF of fraction 8/15 and 16/125 is

= HCF = HCF of numerators/ LCM of denominators

= 8/375

For the LCM :

first find the LCM of numerator that is 8 and 16

8 = 2 x 2 x 2

16 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2

• LCM of 8 and 16 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 16

and secondly find the HCF of denominator 15 and 125

15= 3 x 5

125 = 5 x 5 x 5

• HCF of 15 and 125 = 5

therefore, LCM of fraction 8/15 and 16/125 is

= LCM = LCM of numerators / HCF of denominators

= 16/5
