Answer:

we have to find the hcf and lcm of 12,36,160 using prime factorisation method

for that we will have to write the numbers in factorisation form,i.e.-

12=2×2×3

36=2×2×3×3

160=2×2×2×2×2×5

Now,for the HCF since it means highest common factor , write the common factors from all three,i.e.

2×2=4

implies that HCF=4

Now,for LCM (least common multiple) we have to write the numbers again in factor form i.e.-

12=2×2×3

36=2×2×3×3

160=2×2×2×2×2×5

now,LCM=the multiply of the numbers which are common in all the three and also,the numbers which are left after that,i.e.=2×2×2(since it is common in all three)×2×2×3×3×3×5(which is not common)

i.e.-2×2×2×2×2×3×3×3×5=4320

implies that LCM=4320

HCF=4,LCM=4320
