As 48 > 18, we will use Euclid's Division Lemma to find their H.C.F
i.e., a = bq + r, where 0 ≤ r < b,
Now,
⇒ 48 = 18 × 2 + 12
⇒ 18 = 12 × 1 + 6
⇒ 12 = 6 × 2 + 0
As division stops here, so we get,
H.C.F. (48,18) = 6
Now,
there's another way to solve this which is prime factorization method
Here, prime factors of 48 and 18 are :-
48 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3
18 = 2 × 3 × 3
Since 2 and 3 are common in both of them,
we get,
H.C.F. (18,48) = 2 × 3
= 6

18=2×3×3
48=2×2×2×2×3
Since one 2 and a 3 is common,
HCF of (18,48) = 2×3 = 6.
Hope this helps you.Plz mark my answer as brainliest.
