The HCF of 24 , 36 and 42 using prime factorisation.

HCF :

For the given two or more numbers HCF is the greatest number that divides each of the numbers

EVALUATION

Here the given numbers are 24 , 36 and 42

We prime factorise the given numbers

24 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3

36 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

42 = 2 × 3 × 7

Hence the required HCF

= Highest Common Factor

= 2 × 3

= 6
