To find : HCF of 60 and 405

Solution:

HCF of 60 * 405

405 = 60* 6  + 45

60  = 45 *  1  +  15

45 =  15  *  3

15 is the HCF

405 = 60* 6  + 45

putting 45 =  60 - 15

=> 405 = 60* 6  + 60 - 15

=> 405  = 60 * (6 + 1) - 15

=> 15 =    60 * 7  - 405

=> 15 =  60 * 7 +  405 *(-1)

q = 7   & r  = - 1
