Heyy!

We will be finding the HCF by using  EUCLID'S DIVISION LEMMA

We will first find the HCF of 40 & 48

                 48/40= 40*1+8

                  40/8=8*5+0

∴     HCF of 40 & 48 is 8

Now we will find the HCF of 48 and 72

                   72/48=48*1=24

                   48/24=24*2+0

∴HCF of 48 & 72 is 24

Now we will find HCF of 8 and 24

              24/8=8*3+0

∴HCF=8
