q = mS∆T

given data :-

mass = 5 kg = 5000 g

∆T =( 100° - 80°)
= 20°c

Specific heat (S) =1

=> q = 5000 ×1×20

=> q = 10⁴ cal

[ 1 cal = 4.2 J ]

so

required heat = 4.2 × 10⁴ J
