Find the height of a
pole which casts a shadow 20 m long at a time and place where the shadow of a stick 1 m long is 55 cm.

1 m = 100cm

GIVEN,

100 cm stick cast 55 cm shadow.

100 cm = 55 cm

1 cm of an object cast \dfrac {55}{100}cm shadow = 0.55cm

HENCE,

LET THE HEIGHT OF POLE BE = "X"

0.55 × X = 200

X = <br />\dfrac {200}{0.55}

X = 4000cm

or,

X = 40m

HEIGHT OF POLE BE 4000cm or 40m
