Question :- Find the height of a triangle with an area (A) of 35 square inches and base (b) of 7 inches. Use the formula for the area of a triangle, A=1/2bh.

Select one:

a. 10 inches

b. 490 inches

c. 2.5 inches

d. 122.5 inches

Solution :-

Triangle :--- is a plane figure with three straight sides and three angles.

→ Area of ∆ = 1/2 * Base * Height = 1/2* ab* sinC = 1/2 * bc *sinA = 1/2 * ca* sinB = √( s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c) ) [ where s = (a+b+c)/2 ]

given that,

  • Base = 7 inches .
  • Area = 35 inches² .

then,

→ Area of ∆ABC = (1/2) * Base * Height

→ 35 = (1/2) * 7 * Height

→ 35 * 2 = 7 * Height

→ 70 = 7 * Height

→ Height = (70/7)

→ Height = 10 inches. (Ans.) (a)
