Let height of table is x
height of cat is y
height of turtle is z .

case 1 :- height of cat + height of table - height of turtle = 170cm
y + x - z = 170 ........(1)

case 2 :- height of turtle + height of table - height of cat = 130cm
z + x - y = 130........(2)

adding equations (1) and (2),

y + x - z + z + x - y = 170 + 130

2x = 300 => x = 150

hence, height of table is 150cm.

Considering the figures,

Inferences from the first picture:

Height of the table + cat - tortoise = 170

Inferences from the second picture:

Height of the table - cat + tortoise = 130

Let us consider the height of the table, cat and tortoise to be x, y and z respectively.

Hence we get,

x+y-z=170

x-y+z=130

Equating both the equations:

By addition,

x+y-z=170

x-y+z=130

We get,

Height of two tables = 170 + 130

Height of two tables  = 300 cm

Therefore,

Height of one Table = 300 ÷ 2  = 150 cm

Hence, the height of the table is 150 cm.

The distance between the cat and the tortoise cannot be determined with the data available.
