Let BC= h be the height of the tree.

Given :

Theta = 30°

AB = 200m

In ∆ABC,

 \large \: tan 30 =  \frac{BC}{AB}  =  \frac{h}{200} </p><p></p><p>

We know that tan 30 = 1/√3 ,

 \large \frac{1}{ \sqrt{3} }  =  \frac{h}{200}

Cross multiplying,

 \large \: h =  \frac{200}{ \sqrt{3} }

Rationalising the denominator,

 \large \: h \:  =  \frac{200}{ \sqrt{3} } \times  \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{ \sqrt{3} }  =  \frac{200 \sqrt{3} }{3}

 \large \: h \:  =  \frac{  200  \times 1.73}{3}

 \large \:  h = \frac{346}{3}  = 115.3m
