Force required for drag = 25.88 N

Given that the weight of body is 100N. It is placed on a gradual incline of an agle 15° with respect to the horizontal. The weight of the body will acting vertically downwards. The normal reaction on the plane however will be a resolution of the weight of the body. That is the component of the weight adjacent, hence Weight × cos α where α is angle of the incline.

The body will drag downwards as a result of its own weight. The perpendicular component of its weight will be responsible for the subsequent downward movement.

∴ Force required = W × sin 15°

∴ Force required = 100 × sin 15

∴ Force required = 25.88 N
