Find the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle with height 12dm and base 16dm

 {h}^{2} = {b}^{2} + {p}^{2}

 {h}^{2} = {16}^{2} + {12}^{2}

 {h}^{2} = 256 + 144

 {h}^{2} = 400

h \: = \sqrt{400}

h = \sqrt{20 \times 20}

h = 20

so \: hypotenuse \: = 20dm
