We know that the car is finally stopped

∴ v = 0    t = 10s

The accelation was opposite in direction of motion

∴a = -2.5 m/s²

0 = u + (-2.5)(10)

   = u + (-25)

    = u - 25

u = 0+25

u = 25m/s
