Find the initial velocity of a car which is stopped in 10 seconds by applying brakes retardation duty brakes is 2.5 metre per second square

initial velocity = u

final velocity(v)= 0

time = 10 s

retardation(-a)= 2.5 m/s^2

we know, v^2 = u^2 -2as

or, (0)^2= u^2 - 2 ×10 2.5

 =>  {u}^{2}  = 2 \times 25

 => u =  \sqrt{2 \times 25}

 => u = 5 \times  \sqrt{2}  \\   =  > u = 5 \times 1.414 \\  =  > u = 7.07

initial velocity is 7.07m/s
