On applying brakes we get the final velocity of the car to be zero.

Also we are given that retardation of the car is -2.5 m/s² and the time at which it stops is 10 seconds.

Applying First Equation of Motion we get,

→ v = u + at

→ 0 = u - 2.5 × 10

→ 0 = u - 25

→ 0 + 25 = u

→ u = 25 m/s

Therefore Initial Velocity of the car (u) is 25 m/s
