m=mass of the body

v=velocity of the body

for a rotating body we take into consideration its angular velocity i.e.ω

K=1/2 x m x (rw)^2  

∴ velocity(v)= angular velocity(ω) x distance from axis of rotation(r)

K=1/2 x m x r^2 x ω^2

mr^2=moment of inertia(I)

so, now thw final equation will be

K=1/2  x I x ω^1/2
