the largest 5 digit no is 99999. when it is divided by 8 it leaves a remainder 7. but we need  remainder as 5.so reduce 2 (7-5) from 99999. ie,99997 is the largest 5 digit no which when divided by 8 leaves a remainder 5 and which when divided by 7 leaves a remainder 2.
