To find:-

  • Largest number that divides 92 and 74 leaving 2 as remainder.

Solution:-

Here,

92 and 74 on dividing with any largest number leaves remainder 2 :-

So,

  • 92 - 2 = 90
  • 74 - 2 = 72

We have to find HCF to get that largest number:-

HCF of 90 and 72 :-

  • 90 = 2 × 3 × 3 × 5
  • 72 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

Therefore, HCF of 90 and 72 = 2 × 3 × 3 = 18

Therefore, The Largest required number is 18.
