31-5 = 26

99-8 = 91

therfore, prime factorisation of 26 = 2 x 13-(1)

and 91 = 7 x 13-(2)

HCF will be the largest number that divides 31 and 99 to leave remainder 5 and 8 respectively .

therefore HCF= 13 -(from 1 and 2 )

Hi Friends ✋✋

31 - 5 = 26

99 - 8 = 91

HCF of 26 and 91

26 = 2 × 13

91 = 13 × 7

HCF = 13

Therefore 13 is the largest number which divides 31 and 99 and leaves 5 and 8 as remainder
