Find the largest positive number which divides 398,436,842 leaving remainders 7,11,9

398-7 = 391. 436-11 = 425. 842-9=833.
H.C.F OF 391, 427, 831  = 17.

Hence, the required largest number will be 17 .
391/17 = remainder 7,425/17 = remainder 11 ,833/17= remainder 9.

To find the largest positive number which divides 398,436,842 leaving remainders 7,11,9, process is a ls follows ............. 398-7= 391........ 436-11= 425............... 842-9= 833.................. Now , do the prime factorization of these 3 no. separately.................. 391= 23×17.................. 425= 5×5×17.................. 833= 7×17×7.................. Common factor= 17........ Or HCF= 17.... So the largest positive no. is 17...... 17 is the answer.
