Given

we have given surface area of cube is 150cm²

To Find

We have to find the lateral surface area of cube

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

How to solve :

Step1: Firstly write down the formula of surface area of cube as its value is given in the Question.

Step2:Now ,solve and equate with the given value.

Step3:After solving we will find a variable value which would be the side of cube.

Step4: Now,write down the formula for lateral surface area of cube and put Variable value which is side.

Formulas used here:

  • Surface area of cube = 6a²( a is side)
  • Lateral surface area of cube= 4a²

Surface area of cube=6a²

=>150=6a²

=>a²=150÷6

=>a²= 25

=>a=√25=5

a=5cm

hence,side of cube (a) is 5cm

We have to find the lateral surface area

lateral surface area of cube= 4a²

\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   =4×25=100

Hence, the lateral surface area of cube is 100cm².

Note: Lateral surface area is also said as curved surface area.

Hey mate!!
Surface area = 6a^2
Therefore,
6a^2 = 150
a = 5cm
Also, since, lateral surface area = 4a^2
4 * (5)^2
4*25
100 cm (ANSWER)

Hope it helps!!
