Given :

• Dimensions of a cuboid :-

  • Length of the cuboid = 8 m
  • Breadth of the cuboid = 6 m
  • Height of the cuboid = 3 cm

To find :

  • Lateral surface area of cuboid
  • Total surface area of cuboid
  • Volume of cuboid

Knowledge required :-

  • Formula of lateral surface area of cuboid -

⠀⠀⠀Lateral Surface area = 2h(l + b)

  • Formula of total surface area of cuboid -

⠀⠀⠀Total Surface area = 2(lb + bh + hl)

  • Formula of volume of cuboid -

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Volume of cuboid = lbh

where,

  • l = the length of the cuboid
  • b = the breadth of the cuboid
  • h = the height of the cuboid ⠀

Solution :

Firstly, convert the height of the cuboid from cm into m.

As we know,

  • 1 cm = 1/100 m

Height = 3 cm = 3/100 = 0.03 m

Lateral surface area of cuboid :-

⠀⠀⠀⇒ LSA = 2h(l + b)

⠀⠀⠀⇒ LSA = 2 × 0.03(8 + 6)

⠀⠀⠀⇒ LSA = 0.06(14)

⠀⠀⠀⇒ LSA = 0.84

Lateral surface area of cuboid = 0.84 m²

Toal surface area of cuboid :-

⠀⠀⠀⇒ TSA = 2(lb + bh + hl)

⠀⠀⠀⇒ TSA = 2(8 × 6 + 6 × 0.03 + 0.03 × 8)

⠀⠀⠀⇒ TSA = 2(48 + 0.18 + 0.24)

⠀⠀⠀⇒ TSA = 2(48.42)

⠀⠀⠀⇒ TSA = 96.84

Total surface area of cuboid = 96.84 m²

Volume of cuboid :-

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Volume = 8 × 6 × 0.03

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Volume = 1.44

Volume of cuboid = 1.44 cm³
