Question :- find the lcm and hcf of 765,510,408 using prime factorization method using tree method .

Solution :-

As we know prime factorization method using tree method is finding prime factors of given numbers and than finding LCM and HCF .

  • LCM is highest power of prime factors.
  • HCF is least power of common prime factors.

So,

Prime factorization of 765 , 510 and 408 is :-

→ 765 = 3 * 3 * 5 * 17 = * 5 * 17

→ 510 = 2 * 3 * 5 * 17

→ 408 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 17 = * 3 * 17

Now,

→ LCM (Highest powers) = 2³ * 3² * 5 * 17 = 8 * 9 * 85 = 6120 (Ans.)

And,

HCF (Least power or common in all) = 3 * 17 = 51 (Ans.)

Hence, LCM and HCF of 765, 510, 408 is 6120 and 51.
