find the LCM of 6 8 12 and 16

At first you must know what is LCM. LCM is the abbreviation of least common multiple. Suppose n1 and n2 are two distinct natural numbers . The smallest number n that is exactly divisible by n1 and n2 is called LCM.

LCM OF 6,8,12,16 is

6=2x3

8=2x2x2

12=2x3x2

16=2x2x2x2

Now,observe the prime factorisation of each number and raise each of the prime factors listed above to the highest power in which it appears above i.e.

LCM=2x2x2x2x3=48
