The LCM of the numbers is

(a) 600

(b) 252

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the question

We have to find the LCM of the given numbers by prime factorization.

we know that, LCM stands for lowest common factor of any given number.

(a) Given three number are 25, 30 and 40

25 = 5 x 5

30 = 2 x 3 x 5

40 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5

∴ LCM of 25, 30 and 40 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 x 5

                                          = 600

(b) Given three number are 42, 36 and 21

42 = 2 x 3 x 7

36 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3

21 = 3 x 7

∴ LCM of 42, 36 and 21 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 7

                                         = 252

Hence the LCM of the numbers will be

(a) 600

(b) 252
