Prime factorisation of,

36=2x2x3x2

48=2x4x3

60=2x2x3x5

HCF=product of common prime factors of least power.

=2x2x3

=12

Hence minimum length of rope which can be cut into whole numbers of peices length 36cm ,48cm,and 60cm is 12cm.
