Answer:

There are 2 possibilities for the answer, and I hv taken both conditions.

1) Finding the least "Positive" number

2) Finding the least number, which includes negative numbers too

Case 1):-

We notice that square root of 6412 is about 80.0749, which is about 80 ( square of 80 = 6400)

So the next perfect square is the square of 81 = 6561

So 6561-6412 = 149

Therefore, 146 should be added to 6412 to get a perfect square

Case 2):-

We got to know in case 1 that 6400 is also a perfect square, the difference between 6412 and 6400 = 12, which is an even smaller value than the 149 we got from the previous case.

But since 12 has to be subtracted, we can say that we can add '-12' to 6412, to get a perfect square.

So, now you have 2 values, 149 , and '-12'.

And you can choose which ever answer u need.

Hope you understood my explanation:)
