We know that least 4-digit number is. So dividing 1000 by 48, we get 20 as quotient ( i.e, k=20 ). The largest 3 digit LCM of 24, 16 and 12 is 960 if you add 9 to it you don't reach into 4 digits. So you need the smallest 4 digit LCM of 24, 16 and 12, which is 1008.
