Given number is 26535.

(i)

Square root of 26535 = √26535 = 162.89.

⇒ (162)^2 < 26535 < (163)^2

⇒ 26244 < 26535 < 26569

Hence, the least number which must be subtracted from 26535 to make it a perfect square = 26535 - 26244 = 291.

Therefore, 291 should be subtracted from 26535 to make it a perfect square.

Hope this helps!
