find the least number which should be subtracted from the following number to get a perfect square . also find the square root of the perfect square (1) 42448 (2)99230.

(1) 42,448

The remainder = 12

Smallest no. to be subtracted = 12

♦ Perfect sq. = 42,448 - 12
= 42,436

♢ Sq. root of perfect sq.
= √42,436
= 206

(2) 99,230

The remainder = 5

Smallest no. to be subtracted = 5

♦ Perfect sq. = 99,230 -5
= 99,225

♢ Sq. root of perfect sq.
= √99,225
= 315
