The least number when divided by 24 , 36 and 48 leaves remainder 8 in each case.

ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀ:

We have to find the least number when divided by 24 , 36 and 48 leaves remainder 8 in each case.

The least number which will be divisible by all three will be their LCM.

Now , LCM of 24 , 36 and 48.

→ 24 = 2 × 2 ×2 × 3 = 2³ × 3

→ 36 = 2×2×3×3 = 2² × 3²

→ 48 = 2×2×2×2×3 = 2⁴ × 3.

LCM = 2⁴ × 3² = 16 × 9 = 144.

We now add 8 to 144 , which is the required answer,

Answer = 144 + 8 = 152.
