Let the breadth of the room be x . Then the length of room = x+1

The lateral surface area of the room =2(l+b)h

 = > \: 84 = 2(x + 1 + x) \times 6

 = > \: 84 = 2 \times 6(2x + 1)

 = > \: 84 = 12(2x + 1)

 = > \: 84 = 24x + 12

 = > \: 84 - 12 = 24x

 = > \: 72 = 24x

 = > \: \frac{72}{24} = x

The length of the room = x+1= 3+1 = 4m and breadth of the room = x= 3m .
