Find the length and breadth of the gate in the figure if the sum total of all the edges, including the door’s dimensions, is 48 m.

= 2nr + 2.8 cm,

wherer= 1.4 cm

1.4 cm 2.8 cm

4.4 cm+2.8 cm = 7.2 cm or food piece (b) istance moved = Arc AB + BC+CD+DA

x 2ar+ 1.5 cm + 2.8 cm+ 1.5 cm,

wherer 1.4 cm

x 1.4 cm+5.8 cm

= 4.4 cm +5.8 cm = 10.2 cm

For food piece (c)

Distance nmoved = Arc AB + BC +CA

= 2r+2cm+2cm

wherer= 1.4 cm

1.4 cm + 4 cm

= 4.4 cm + 4 cm = 8.4 cm

Clearly, the ant have to take a longer round in case of food piece (b).
