perimeter of rectangle = 2 (L+B)
72 =2 (5X+4+X-4)
72 =2 (6X)
72/2=6X
36/6=X
6=X
length =5X+4
=5×6+4
=30+4
=34cm
breadth=X-4
=6-4
=2cm

Hi ,

Dimensions of the rectangle ,

Length = l = 5x + 4

Breadth = b = x - 4

According to the problem given ,

Perimeter = 72 m

2( l + b ) = 72

l + b = 72 /2

l + b = 36

5x + 4 + x - 4 = 36

6x = 36

x = 36 / 6

x = 6

l = 5x + 4 = ( 5 × 6 ) + 4 = 30 + 4

l = 34 m

b = x - 4

b = 6 - 4

b = 4 m

Therefore ,

l = 34m , b = 4m

I hope this helps you.

:)
